The Portuguese Government started to intensify the vaccination process against Covid-19 and requested numerous sport Halls for that purpose. The “Mário Mexia” sports hall, venue where the World Cup and International Tournament of Coimbra Gym Fest were going to be held, was one of the requested places and we won’t be able to use it anymore.
The Portuguese Gymnastics Federation along with Coimbra’s Organising Commitee, committed to carry out these events, despite this constraint that has now arisen, proposing FIG to keep the organisations of the two events, only changing the location of the competition. Near Coimbra City, at Anadia – about thirty minutes driving from the main City – we have a National Training Center for high level athletes of several sports, gymnastics included. There are also several high-quality hotels in this area (Curia and Luso).
